Author, Behind a Paywall
Introducing paid subscribers, and what it means for you wonderful readers.
When I first started writing on Substack, I don’t think I understood how wonderful the community here was. Substack is such a wonderful haven for writers like me, and I feel so grateful to have stumbled back into it right when I felt like I needed it.
I first only used the platform as a way to create an email list and provide a quick newsletter to update my readers who already were reading my romance novels on things like book releases, cover reveals, and occasional updates.
Now, however, Substack feels so much more. It feels like a place where I can grow and expand my writing. This newsletter has provided solace in my writing and brought me back to my blogging roots. Substack has also connected me with so many other amazing writers. Some have the same dreams as I do. Thus, they’ve been an inspiration to take my writing here even more seriously and see what can become of it.
Especially, when the option of having paid subscribers who deem my stories and my work worthy can help support the dream so that I can continue to write.
So, here’s the plan.
Free Subscribers:
Don’t worry! You are still getting content and probably quite a bit of it for a while as I figure out what I want to save for paid subscribers 100% in the future. It will probably look like you are getting what I always planned for my original quick-and-dirty, get all the information out there, and author newsletter to be.
You’ll receive…
Writing updates/ Writing Diaries (likely weekly to bi-weekly)
Author news and event information
Whatever else extra I feel like posting each week depending on the topic! This will likely be thought pieces like Video Kills the Writing Star and 6 Best Pieces of Writing Advice. As I said, not too much is changing as of now.
Paid Subscribers:
You’ll get all the fun extras. The readers who say, “Oh, I’d read their grocery list.” This is the tier level for you.
You’ll receive:
Pub Talks: Come along as we explore the ins and outs of self-publishing. This includes writing, editing, as well as cover design, and marketing as I work through the ups and downs of the publishing industry right alongside you.
Extra writing sneak peeks and updates
Life updates and Weekly Reports
Personal Essays
I know this is a change, but as I work towards becoming a full-time writer and author, every bit of support counts. It takes a lot of work, and unfortunately funding after all to keep quality writing and books coming to you consistently, and I am determined to continue doing that.
I hope you continue to enjoy Kendra’s Write Life and all that comes with it. I love this community here and can’t wait for everything in store next.
