This month, my goal was to write more. Yes, I mainly meant writing my book, When in December which is set to release this October. But, I’ve also been finding myself a pretty fun and happy place right here on Substack and in my newsletters with all of you in this slowly budding community.
So, I’m introducing my first subscription based piece of this newsletter coming soon.
Meet Pub Talks.
Yes. Like Publishing Talks, but like we are at the pub or a cute wine bar chatting writing logistics and plot holes over drinks.
Much more fun to think about it like that.
I’m on a mission to demystify the foreboding feeling that often comes with the publishing process and empower writers to turn their literary dreams into reality. Because, if there is one thing I already learned as I work as an indie romance author, it’s that we could all use a good writer friend, and I hope to shine a light along the somewhat treacherous pits of the writing and publishing industry as we know it.Â
Whether you're penning your first novel or a seasoned self-publisher, we've got you covered with expert tips, insider secrets, and invaluable resources to help you every step of the way.
Through Pub Talks, which I plan to be a weekly newsletter, I hope to explore the ins and outs of self-publishing. This includes writing, editing, as well as cover design, and marketing as I work through the ups and downs of the publishing industry right alongside you.
Some of these Pub Talks will be more conversational as I try out new marketing plans and learn something new every time I put a new book up for readers (seriously, I learn something new about the process every single time). Other posts will be more how-to guides and information you may or may not know yet.
You get to see everything going on behind the scenes from what works, and what doesn’t, as well as guides and tips if you are just starting on this fun exciting book publishing journey.
I want to provide the kind of information I wish I had when I was first starting to publish by myself.
Whether you're craving inspiration, seeking guidance, or hungry for success (wherever it might be found— I’m still for sure looking), I hope to be a trusted friend along the way of your journey, or simply learning more about how to triumph as a self-publishing author.Â
Subscribe to my newsletter now and join my little, yet surely vibrant community of indie authors, writers, and readers blazing their trails in the literary world. I don’t know if I have a lot to offer in a world of information on traditional and self-publishing, but I figured my journey has been different—everyone’s is—so why not try this?
Why not add a few more words to paper or screen or newsletter for all of you.
