I loved reading this! One of my favorite pieces of advice I received was from a college professor who said “if you know your ending, so will your reader.” And I really took that to heart

I’m a pantser myself but I think this is true even for plotters. Even if you know where you’re going from the start, the way you get there needs to unfold organically through writing your way into it rather than solely thinking your way into it, if that makes sense.

I’m sure a lot of people disagree with this but for me, it’s always been one of my favorites.

That is something I have heard before too! Especially when people were speaking of mystery novels which I always found so interesting. Talk about a plot twist and going in blind! Honestly though, this is something that can work for whatever you are writing, or else things can become boring in that middle section. It is something I know I am definitely working on as a writer.

yes! I can imagine for suspense or mystery this is even more crucial. And actually, now that I think of it, not even just for the audience but for the author’s own interest! Every time I’ve tried plotting I feel so bored and stiff trying to write. I do need to find a method that’s a little more efficient than what I did with this book which was write for four months before I even knew what it was about then start from scratch but…I’m sure there’s some middle ground 🤣

I feel like I lot of the best advice comes from these kinds of little tid bits of encouragement! I really appreciate it and only take in the kind of advice that best serves me. These are definitely a few of those pieces.
