I will have to look into it more! I feel like I am constantly trying to find the balance between writing and reading and having that space to just get back into reading would be so wonderful and probably help my love to get back to writing again. Thanks for the rec!
The struggle is real. When I am feeling frustrated with my writing, personally that is the trigger that I need to read more. I never feel guilty for writing but somehow slip into that with reading. Why does the reading feel overly indulgent? HA Writers’ minds are fickle things sometimes! I highly recommend Tanya’s Substack. She had a great memoir post which was motivating. I loved the Dry Season by Melissa Febos. I think that having a string of books that I don’t enjoy as much also lessens my mood for reading sometimes. I hope you find a good solution!
Friends and I planned a reading retreat on a train last month!
that is so much fun!
Reading retreats do exist! Tanya Lynch hosts them and she writes the With Ease podcast.
I enjoyed Bones as well. I haven't picked up the new Poston novel but I met her last year at an author event. I adore her first two books.
